As a modeler for the game, “Meltdown”, Im going to share some of the tasks I have worked on and also go over my process in the Fourth sprint. This will include sprint kickoff and the work I did and didn’t complete, as well as some of the things that went right and wrong.

First, I will start with one of the UI tasks I was given. For this I was meant to make the shop screen look cleaner for the player. What I mean by this is just making everything more organized because some of the player feedback from students made was it was confusing to look at. The way I made this is by having the shop button in a corner and when pressed it would open up a new screen with a list of new options to choose from, so that's how that is supposed to work.

Now let’s get into the more exciting stuff! The first model that I finished was a electric windmill and this will serve as another generator in our game. This specific model was really easy to texture since it’s pretty much all the same. When it came to modeling this, I would say the blades gave me the most trouble when trying to get the angle right.

The second model I completed was a solar panel. For this model it will actually be a farm of solar panels, but it can easy be duplicated in the future when the game is almost done. For this model the textures came out nice, and I’m happy with how it came out.

The third model I did took me some time and it was a visual representation of a hydroelectric dam generator. I was very satisfied with how the model and textures came out. I did have one problem with this model however and it was Uv’s. There was a point when I was doing UV’s and they were coming out red but the reason that was happening was because there were overlaying vertices and edges but everything was quickly resolved.

For the fourth task, I went back to one of my previous models that I made and updated it to look more like a Dutch windmill. Everything is textured and I’m going to go back to some other models that I didn’t texture and also texture those too going down the future sprints.

One of the last couple models I did was a couple of fruit models. The two models consisted of an apple and a strawberry however it looks more orange than red but thats okay. The models in the game are going to be called lunch room items and they are going to allow the player to purchase two mechanic slots.

Has this process been different in your experience to date?

I would say my process has stayed very consistent when it comes to the amount of work I’m receiving and finishing. One thing I will admit is doing the work later down towards the sprint and you can definitely say that if I’m able to pretty much finish the work within that remainder of the sprint then its not really two weeks worth of work.

As of now my team and I are working the best we can to make this game look and work right. If it wasn’t for my teams hard work, we would not even have a digital prototype for students and others to test, so I applaud them for their hard work.

In conclusion, I’m working on a card that I did not finish for this sprint and for this card, I will be making the in game UI have more of a clear theme to the game.
